Area Attractions
In addition to world
class theme parks Orlando has an exciting assortment of attractions
including Water Parks, Dinner Shows, Nightlife, and more! Your
InnHouse vacation home is only a few
minutes drive from all excitement that Orlando has to offer.
Wet
n’ Wild: The number one water park in
the world with acres of slides and flumes to choose from. There are
plenty of rides, slides, and attractions for the whole family. You can
challenge the STORM, a raging body coaster, flashback on the Disco H2O,
experience the exhilaration of the Black Hole or float down the Lazy
River. Kids love the elaborate children’s playground, which features
miniature versions of the parks most popular rides.
Typhoon
Lagoon:
Located in the Walt Disney World resort. Disney’s
exotic tropical swimming paradise. Body surf in one of the world’s
largest wave pools or snorkel with live sharks. Laze on the beach, float
down the river or take your "pick" of courses at at the old abandoned
citrus plant in Crusher and Gusher.
Blizzard Beach:
Located in the Walt Disney World resort.
Dive into spills, chills, and thrills at Disney’s most exhilarating
water park. Plunge down Summit Plummet, the tallest, fastest, free-fall
ride in the USA!
Aquatica: Take a plunge
through a lagoon filled with dolphins, or soak on a white sand beach.
Race on a river of rolling rapids or float down a lazy river through a
world of colorful fish. Rides, slides, and a double wave pool round out
the adventures at Orlando's newest waterpark designed as only SeaWorld
can.
Gatorland:
A perennial favorite on everyone's to do
list. Gatorland is a 110 acre park and wildlife preserve, combining “Old
Florida” charm with exciting exhibits and entertainment. Ride the
Gatorland Express and explore natural Florida swamps up-close and
personal. Family fun with thousands of alligators and crocodiles, a
breeding marsh, miniature water park, petting zoo, and much more.
Richard
Petty Driving Experience: Experience the
heart pounding, high speed, fast action, real life adventure made famous
by driving legend Richard Petty. This unique experience gives visitors
the chance to strap on a safety harness and actually scream down the
back stretch at speeds of up to 145 mph. This is not a simulator!
Offering several ride and drive programs for thrill seekers and race
enthusiasts.
Should visitors want to combine shopping with dining
and entertainment, Orlando's themed venues offer spectacular shopping in
unique settings.
Festival
Bay:
Also located on North International Drive, just
North of Kirkman Road, Festival Bay features specialty shops,
restaurants, a multi-screen movie theater, and a boardwalk complex.
Downtown Disney:
Nestled along a lake, Downtown Disney is comprised of three areas; the
Marketplace, Pleasure Island, and West Side.
The
Marketplace:
Originally opened as Disney Village this
quaint shopping area has always been a favorite place to while a way an
afternoon. The Marketplace is a popular open-air shopping spot with 26
shops featuring everyone's favorite mouse and all of his pals. Between
shopping visitors can take a boat ride around the Lake Buena Vista
lagoon, listen to entertainment on an outdoor stage, or dine at one of
its popular themed restaurants. The Marketplace is also home of the
Rainforest Cafe.
Pleasure Island: To
better take advantage of it's beautiful lakefront location, Pleasure
Island continues to evolve into a shopping
and dining metropolis. Orlando Harley-Davidson, and the Irish Pub and
Restaurant "Raglan Road" have already been joined by T-Rex Cafe.
The recently renovated Fulton's Crab House serves fresh seafood flown in
daily for lunch and dinner. Set in an authentic riverboat replica docked
on the waterfront, this restaurant features over 50 fresh seafood
selections, as well as non-seafood specialties. Another recent addition
is Portobello, a waterfront restaurant, offering regional Italian
cuisine for lunch and dinner. Select from the award-winning wine list to
pair with the authentic flavors of Italy found in signature pizzas and
pasta dishes.
The Characters in Flight balloon ride is now open. Also new along
the waterfront is Paradiso 37 which serves lunches and dinners of North,
Central and South American cuisine. This new restaurant features
signature frozen margaritas, an extensive tequila bar and offers nightly
entertainment.

West
Side: Home of shopping and dining
venues. West Side is also home of a 24 screen movie theater, the House
of Blues, Cirque du Soleil, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, and DisneyQuest. DisneyQuest is an indoor
virtual theme park. Interactive attractions, rides, and games put you in
the middle of the action. Not to be missed!
Universal’s CityWalk:
One of Orlando’s hot spots for entertainment. This
30 acre complex is home to a mix of live music, great theme restaurant
venues, fine dining, nightclubs, a wide variety of exciting and
innovative shopping experiences, state of the art movies and more.
CityWalk features such big names as; Blue Man Group, Hard Rock Live,
Emeril's, NBA City, Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, Latin Quarter, Bubba
Gump's Shrimp Co., Pat O'Brien's, NASCAR Sports Grille, and Bob Marley a
Tribute to Freedom.
Pointe Orlando:
Located on International Drive offers
upscale dining and shopping in exclusive stores and also features a 21-screen
movie theater. This 450,000-square-foot,
multi-level complex has emerged from a major renovation better than ever
with outdoor dining, courtyards, and beautiful landscaping. Pointe Orlando is
home to the Capital Grille, Tommy Bahama Cafe and Emporium, the Oceanaire
Seafood Room, ICE Bar, and BB Kings Blues Club.
Other Local Attractions:
Although off the path most tourists take through Orlando, many of these
unique, smaller attractions such as the Orlando Historical Center,
Orlando Museum of Art, the Orlando Science Center and the Harry P. Leu
Gardens, to name a few there are a myriad of cultural and historical
sites that should not be missed.
