Orlando International Airport (MCO)
As
a guest of InnHouse Vacation Rentals it is important to us that you have
as little confusion as possible when you arrive in town. Therefore we
are providing you with an overview of Orlando International Airport, the
main airport in the area. Orlando International Airport (MCO), is
located approximately 20-25 minutes drive from the attractions area.
Your flight will arrive at one of the four Airsides at Orlando
International. You will need to take a monorail to the main Terminal
Building for Baggage Claim. When you arrive at the Terminal Building
(also called the Landside) you will
actually
be on Level 3. Baggage Claim is located on Level 2. There are actually
two separate Baggage Claim areas A and B so be sure to find out which
location to head for as you depart your flight. Curbside pickup is also
located on Level 2. Proceed to Level 1 for airport Rental Car companies
and all ground transportation
(including Taxis and Courtesy Shuttles to off airport Rental Car company
locations).

Overseas guests will clear customs at the Airsides.
Your baggage will be given to you to clear customs but will be collected
again from you for transportation to the main Terminal Building where
you will collect it again from the regular Baggage Claim location.
Orlando International Airport started life as McCoy Air Force base,
which is why the airport designator code for the airport is MCO. The Air
Force base itself was named after Colonel Michael N. W. McCoy. McCoy Air
Force base closed in 1974. The airport was granted international airport
status in 1976 and renamed Orlando International Airport.
